I know I have posted about this before. People tend to read and forget or not read. IF you are going to Mexico, travelers had better pay attention. It isn't as though you haven't been advised!
As you (hopefully) know, it is illegal to bring vapes into Mexico (despite your clients nephew’s girlfriend’s daughter not getting in trouble). They recently implemented a nationwide ban on the sale of vapes, and they are cracking down on this in the Mexican Caribbean. I will share an excerpt from an article I just read: “Just one month after a nationwide ban on the sale of vapes was implemented, the Directorate of Protection against Health Risks in Quintana Roo has announced that efforts are underway to close down any vending machines or physical stores that continue to sell these products. Jaime Torres, the director of the institution, stated that prior to the ban, owners of these machines could potentially seek legal protection. However, since the ban was approved on December 11, 2024, this legal avenue is no longer available. Torres acknowledged that this could potentially lead to individual or clandestine sales of these devices. He emphasized that both the sale and use of these devices are being actively discouraged in the region due to the health risks they pose. In 2024, following the implementation of the ban, over 23 vending machines and stores selling these electronic devices were closed down.” Share
